SLS construction and Basel presentation
Now I don’t have many nice pictures to show you so I took this from Google. Marisa will enjoy it I think.
This I took the 3rd of March when we were going out from SLS with a PSI car after taking some pieces of the setup. Unfortunately the camera or me, we were late and I couldn’t pic the good one, that would have been this man looking for radiation with a Geiger detector around the car. Here he’s just going back to the cabin after seeing that we weren’t thieving any radiactive source.
My talk today in Basel was just PERFECT!. Everything was sweet and I enjoy the time there, they showed me what they are doing, quite impresive, and their new Ultracold STM which operates normally around 4K with liquid He for freezing… but they were baking it out so I didn’t take pictures because you’d have seen only a big (~2m high) metal box. They also have a nuclear reactor but it’s used by another group. And this is just in the center of Basel, I was amazing for me when I found this reactor by chance… they invited me to breakfast and to lunch in a restaurant which was also a nice thing, yep. A good day.

Next stop… Basel!

This Friday I am giving again the presentation I gave last Friday here at PSI but this time at the Nanoscience Research Laboratory of the Institute of Physics of the University of Basel
Right at this moment we are taking new images of a new Cu(110) surface with a monolayer of pentacene so I hope to get new material for the presentation, so I don’t just repeate the same.

Last week digest
Lately I am not having a lot of time to tell what I am during on a realtime basis. So this weekend I wrote a digest of what I did last week, there are some little funny points.

Pentacene molecular self-assembly over metallic surfaces
Tomorrow I am giving a seminar at the old reactor of Würellingen (at PSI).
The talk will be given in English and you can browse the HTML version of the slides here:
